Day 1: Bine aţi venit! Welcome to Romania! 

 Our guide/driver will be waiting for you at the “Henry Coanda” International Airport and will drive you to your hotel, offering a short panoramic tour of Bucharest. Depending on the time of your arrival, you will also be guided to a walking day tour in the old historical center of Bucharest. In the evening a nice traditional dinner will be offered to you at one of the best restaurants in Bucharest 

Day 2: Discover the mountains

In the morning you will meet our Idyllic Romania representative and you will start your journey to Transylvania. The first cultural stop will be at Peles Castle, the former royal summer residence in Sinaia. After that we will take our backpacks an up we go. It will take us for about 3 hours to reach the chalet, but don’t worry it isn’t hard. Overnight in Diham Hut (1320m) form where you will have a stunning view of the mountains. 

Day 3: Hiking in Bucegi

For today we prepared a round trip itinerary in the Bucegi Natural Park. From Diham hut we will hike to Malaiesti hut (1720m) crossing wild forests and admiring stunning landscapes. The difficulty of the track is medium and it will take us 3 hours to reach the chalet. The return path is easier and we will be back to Diham chalet at dinner time. 

Day 4: Transylvanian Castles, citadels and Magura Eco Village

We will say good-bye to Diham hut and we will go to the next part of our journey in Transylvania. We will visit Rasnov Citadel and Bran Castle. In the evening we will reach Magura Village, one of the well preserved villages in Romania. 

Day 5: Hiking in Piatra Craiului National Park

Piatra Craiului National Park is considered to be one of the best places in Romania for hiking and trekking. From Magura village we will start our round trip excursion to Curmatura Hut (1470m). The path is not that hard, we will hike through forests and meadows an in about 3 hours we will admire the mountain ridge of Piatra Craiului from the terrace. In the afternoon we will return to Magura Village  

Day 6: A ride on the Transylvanian Roads

From Magura village we will take the road to Sibiu, the former European Capital of Culture in 2007. On our way you can admire the wonderful view of the highest mountain in Romania,  Fagaras Mountains or “Transylvanian Alps”. We will start a walking tour in Sibiu, and we will get lost on the narrow street and we will enjoy a coffee in the old city. In the afternoon we will reach Sibiel village one of the villages that form the area called “Marginimea Sibiului”

Day 7: Meet the peasants 

In this morning you should to wake up early, because here the peasants get up at dawn in order to take care of the houses and their sheep, and it’s time to see them in action. We take a tour through the villages in Marginimea Sibiului, some of the oldest and best preserved villages in a matter of architecture and customs in Romania. In the afternoon we will leave to Bucharest. Next day: After these hopefully beautiful 8 days you spent in our country, it’s time to say goodbye. We hope to see you soon again, to complete your Romanian experience with maybe a rural, gastronomical and traditional experience.
